Engine and transmission oil cooling
Laminova heat exchangers control engine and transmission oil temperatures. They are robust, efficient and extend life of engines and transmissions. They are delivered as standard products or for use in customer-designed applications.
Laminova oil coolers are more efficient than the competition due to the unique patented core design. The finned exterior on the cooler core creates a larger surface area compared to that of traditional “radiator” style coolers.
The laminar oil flow optimises cooling
Due to the unique laminar oil flow, performances can be optimised especially for automatic transmissions and CVT:s. The low oil-flow rate, passing the core, cools gearings and dampens noise levels.
Customisation
The customised cast housing design, separated or integrated with other components, is a Laminova speciality. The assembly is performed without soldering. All connections are sealed with O-rings.

Oil filter cooler
In high-volume cars we also recommend assembling the core with the oil filter cartridge. This saves space and weight. Oil and water flow are routed directly into the oil-filter casting, bolted to the engine block.
The core can be delivered as a separate component, ready for installation.
Flexible mounting
Laminova coolers can be mounted virtually anywhere. Traditional radiator style coolers must be exposed to airflow, risking damage. The coolers can be fitted both in the full coolant flow or in a partial flow circuit.
Efficient design
The efficient design makes cooling core inspection easy with removable end caps. The solderless O-ring design ensures leak-free operation. The cooler core can be quickly removed for easy cleaning.
Reduced ”warm-up” time
The coolers also provide a heater function using the cooling water to heat the oil faster to correct operating temperature. No oil thermostat is needed. This will help increase the life of engines and transmissions.
Material
The cooler core is made of AA 1050, 99.5% aluminium. To meet low volume applications, prototypes and aftermarket applications, extruded aluminium profiles are used for the housing, holding the core.

Integrate the cooling core
Laminova recommends having the core integrated in components when new concepts or redesigns are being considered. The core can be integrated in the engine block, gear box housings or the oil sump, for example. This will reduce costs for oil hoses and couplings, etc. It will also reduce the risks for leak passage.
